After 44 years with my original garage door, it began malfunctioning after being frozen to the floor on a cold wintry day. A tech came the same day I called for an evaluation. I could hear, as he verbalized the problems he saw, that it was time to make a change. The first tech put together a replacement package at my request. I was impressed at the kindness and guidance I saw in answering my concerns. Normally I do not make quick decisions, but it was the right thing to do this time. I did not feel pressured to make a decision. Seven weeks later - I have a new, quiet, and safer door. I am very pleased with everything. Both techs I met were exceptional in exuding desirable persons of high integrity and sincerity. A quality I pick up on easily. Christian identified what the problem was very quickly and replaced the broken part. I chose to have Christian do the semi-annual maintenance lube and check that all the mechanisms are working properly. Because I also only have one remote, I bought an additional one.

The tension spring on our main garage door broke suddenly as they tend to do, so I contacted Precision (since this is NOT something you can generally do as a DIY....) Stephen came the following morning and assessed the door and provided the options. This is something I've experienced twice before at a previous address so I was familiar with what would need to be done. However, in both those instances, the technician only replaced the spring and didn't inspect the overall condition of the door and it's related components. While it cost me more this time around, I appreciated the care and attention Stephen gave while inspecting and performing the work. Stephen had pointed out that because the "bare minimum" had been done on my particular door when it was installed by the builder, it was missing a center bearing on the main shaft as well as having sub-par rollers. Again, having had two situations in the past where my tension springs failed sooner than expected (likely due to similar parts and set up) I appreciated the advice and explanation. Stephen replaced my tension springs with heavy duty units, replaced/upgraded the bearings as well as the rollers. The end result was a door that now opens dramatically quieter and smoother than it did before and has a 7 year warranty. Unexpected expenses are part of home ownership and part of life, but I am VERY thankful I called Precision Door and I will definitely contact them again for any future garage door work!

We had a new garage door installed to replace the original that was damaged. At first, the new door operated smoothly, but after a few days, it developed a problem in closing. Tony Beckstead made several house calls to “tweek” the operating system. He and his crew (Jacob, Kevin and Matt) were all very professional and friendly. It turned out that the “safety beam”devices were slightly misaligned. That caused the sensor beam to not function as it should. We are pleased and grateful the problem is resolved.
